§ 6. Extraterritorial authority of city.

  • The said mayor and city council shall have jurisdiction for one mile beyond the city limits, as now located or as they may hereafter be located; for the removal and abatement of nuisances; for the licensing, regulating or prohibiting of circuses, carnivals and all similar amusements; for the licensing, regulating or prohibiting restaurants, soda fountains, soft drink parlors, and all similar places where food or drink is disposed of; for the licensing, regulating or prohibiting poolrooms, dance halls, moving picture theatres, and all similar places of public amusement; to carry out and enforce all sanitary regulations, and for the apprehension of disorderly persons, vagrants and their associates, and for the suppression of bawdy houses, disorderly houses and houses of ill-fame.
